Well I have finally gone and installed WordPress, and what a piece of software it is. I take my hat off to the team of developers who have created such a great product!

Well, what am I going to be writing about on here? Well as you may or may not know, I gave my notice in for my old job a few months ago to go out and start my own company with my friend John Sim, who just also happens to be a GUI genius. We will soon start to begin work on a new software product which will greatly help the media/print industry (and pretty much most other types of business as well) to streamline their digital asset creation and process management solutions.

I aim to keep people up-to-date on my personal progress whilst doing this. Currently, we have just been planning and designing the product so we know what we have to do the day that we leave work (28th September 2007) and have estimated that it will take about 9 months (which probably actually means 13 months) to get the first version out and hopefully start making some money to continue making it even better. We both have a lot to learn about running a business, so I thought it would be useful to jot these things down so that other people who are in the same boat can learn (hopefully!) from our mistakes, and encourage some other people to take the plunge.

We will soon be creating our company holding page which will contain more information about the product itself and also have a blog which will contain only posts which are related to the business. I will post a link once we have this up and running, as it will be interesting to read whats going on from both perspectives. By the by, we actually have our company name and domain but we will wait for a while before we let anyone know. We need to keep some surprises at least
