Captcha..

I have had to add a simple captcha to my comments form. The reason for this is the sheer amount of spam that I am getting these days. Askismet is doing a brilliant job filtering out about 400 spam comments/day but now I keep getting a few that do not get flagged and I have to keep checking them. I know that it is not a bulletproof solution but it has been p*****g me off so much I had to add one in, so hopefully it should stop most of them.

Yeah they’re a PITA but I absolutely agree they’re necessary. You should be writing interesting articles, not messing around with Akismet!

What’s the plugin that provides them? Easy to install?

I used the SI Captcha at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/. I dont think it is an auto generating one but it is simple so I like it.

Lets hope those nasty spammers out there don’t start to use something like this!! ;)

Fortunately I don’t get many hits to my site.
